Mawa Peda is calorie rich but hard to resist, indulgent Indian sweet. This is the easiest sweet to make as comared to other ones. Mawa Peda is a perfect choice for celebrations or festive menu during Holi, Diwali or Navratri. Added with cardamom and saffron enrich the flavour of this recipe.

  • 1 cup mawa, fresh & crumbled or grated
  • 3 tbsp warm milk
  • 6-7 saffron 
  • 1 ½ tbsp ghee
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 7-8 pistchios

  • Add saffron strands to the warm ,ilk and set aside.
  • Heat ghee in a wide shallow non-stick pan. Once it turns hot, add the crumbled mawa and saute for 3 mins. on low flame, stirring contiuously.
  • Add milk and sugar and mix. It will get liquidy. Keep stirring on low flame. Add cardamom powder and mix.
  • Soon mawa will thicken and leave the aside of the pan and form a large lumpy mixture. Turn off flame and keep it aside to come to room temperature.
  • Grease your hands, make small balls and lightly flatten. Place a pistachio in the centre and serve.
