Aam Panna From Imperial Inn

Aam panna is a popular tangy summer cooler. It is made from green mangoes and is light green in color, and is consumed as a tasty and healthy beverage to fight against the intense Indian summer heat.

  • 1 medium size raw mango
  • 1/2 tsp roasted jeera powder (dry roast cumin seeds and powder it)
  • few mint leaves
  • Rock salt or black salt

  • Roast the mango over direct flame until the skin gets charred. Leave it to cool. Gently peel the skin and scoop out the pulp with a spoon. (In this method, you will get a smoky flavour to the drink). Keep the pulp aside.
  • Pressure cook raw mangoes for two whistles. Leave it to cool. Remove the skin gently and take the pulp. Discard the seed. (In this method, the smoky flavour will be missing).
  • Add 3 cups of chilled water, roasted jeera powder, salt, ice cubes and mix well.
  • Garnish with crusted mint leaves and serve chilled.
